Today is one of those days I know I’ll remember for a long time.
This morning, I dropped the very first The Rainy Chapter Happy Mail packages into the mailbox, and I couldn’t stop smiling. It’s funny how something as simple as a handful of envelopes can carry so much hope, excitement, and nervousness.
When I first dreamed of creating The Rainy Chapter, I imagined sending little moments of encouragement to people who might need them. I never imagined how vulnerable it would feel to actually send them.
This project has asked me to step far outside my comfort zone. Not only did I create stickers, bookmarks, letters, and little surprises, I did it with my own artwork. That might be the scariest part of all. I’m not a professionally trained artist. I’m simply someone who picked up a pencil and started drawing because I wanted to create something that could make someone smile.
There have been so many moments when I questioned myself.
Will anyone like it?
Is it good enough?
Am I really doing this?
But somewhere along the way, I realized something important. The Rainy Chapter was never meant to be about perfection. It was created to remind people that even during uncertain seasons, beautiful things can grow when we’re willing to take one small step forward.
Today, those small steps are traveling through the mail. Soon my founding review team will open these envelopes, and while I’m nervous to hear their thoughts, I’m even more grateful that they believed in this little dream enough to give it a chance.
No matter what happens next, today feels like a victory. It reminds me that sometimes the biggest act of courage isn’t having all the answers. It’s simply choosing to begin.
